Legislature Tries to Re-do Child Custody Rules

Because no one’s ever truly satisfied with the outcome of a child custody fight, the legislature has introduced a bill that would streamline how judges make custody decisions. The current effort—A Bill Relative to Child Centered Family Law (S.4107) contains a raft of new checklists, shifted burdens of proof, and presumptions that, if passed into law, will rock the foundations of family law.
